A point in the future where technology advances beyond the human mind, and people will no longer be the source of great invention. At that point, computers will be responsible for creating new breakthroughs with minimal human input. Many futurists, such as world renowned Ray Kurzweil, think this is inevitable, while others believe it to be hogwash. See AI.
