A Modular Chassis
Cabletron's earlier MMAC PLUS was a network hub that supported Ethernet, Token Ring, FDDI and ATM networks. The boards plugged into the backplane, which was a bridge between the various topologies. (Image courtesy of Cabletron Systems.)
