All applications are launched from the StarOffice Workplace desktop environment, which includes an Explorer window for viewing files and folders and StarOffice resources. StarOffice comes with its own Java runtime module for machines that do not have a Java interpreter. Originally a free service, StarOffice moved to a revenue-based model. For more information, visit www.staroffice.com. See StarPortal, OpenOffice.org and JDS.
