A feature in high-end versions of Windows (XP Pro, Vista Business, Enterprise and Ultimate) that allows the machine to be run remotely from another Windows machine over any dial-up or LAN TCP/IP connection. Remote Desktop is actually the Windows-based Terminal Server, which uses the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) to exchange only keystrokes and screen changes. There are no version restrictions in the remote computer. For example, any remote Windows XP or Vista machine can remotely control the user's office computer with Remote Desktop.
