An e-book reader from Mobipocket SA, Paris, France (www.mobipocket.com) that runs on Windows XP and Vista, as well as Windows Mobile, Blackberry, Palm, Symbian and Psion PDA/smartphones. Amazon's Kindle uses a slightly modified version of the Mobipocket format, and a Java-based cellphone version is also available. Based on the Open eBook format, Mobipocket also supports databases and SQL queries. In 2005, Mobipocket became an Amazon.com company. See Kindle and Open eBook.
