A suite of Internet-based services from Apple for Mac users. Subscription based, it includes Web site hosting, photo and file sharing, remote control, e-mail, backup storage as well as e-mail, contacts and calendar synchronization between Macs, iPhones, iPod (touch models) and even PCs.
Introduced in 2002 as iTools, which was free to Mac users, it was changed to a subscription service within the same year. Later renamed .Mac (dot Mac), the name was changed again in 2008 to MobileMe.
