(Mobile User Interface) In wireless applications where speech input is not necessary or appropriate, there is a choice of other forms of input. Miniature QWERTY keyboards, folding portable keyboards and screen keyboards that use a stylus or finger all support full alphabets. Mobile keyboard software is also intelligent enough to minimize the amount of textual input required to spell out words. Hence, a MUI is an extension of the telephone user interface (TUI) beyond the traditional DTMF numeric keypad. See TUI and GUI.
