The DQBroker software resides in each database server and maintains meta-data about all the other database servers in the network. The SQL call can be made from the client to any one of the DQbroker-supported databases in the network. DQbroker supports high-speed processing by providing parallel execution of joins between distributed databases, which may even improve performance between databases of the same type. See DQpowersuite.
Distributed Vs. Centralized Architecture
Since DQbroker resides in all the database servers, it enables a query to be sent to any of them. In a hub and spoke architecture, the query goes to a central location.
